Quality of Life / Code Enforcement
Please feel free to share your concerns about the quality of life in our neighborhood with any AQCA Officer.
AQCA's Neighborhood Liaison to the Mayor Sarno's office is Thomas Walsh, Director of Constituent Services. 787-6100. To email Thomas, please use the link on this page set up by the East Forest Park Civic Association.
Another advocate for the Neighborhoods at City Hall is Ed Whitley, the Deputy Director of Neighborhood Services. Ed can be reached at 750-2174 or EWhitley@springfieldcityhall.com.
If you see what you think is a code violation at a residence or a business -- things like excessive litter, unsafe structure, abandoned vehicles, please feel free to notify the AQCA Office. You may also wish to file a complaint using the online form on the City's website.

The City of Springfield is divided into 3 divisions, and 19 sectors for the purpose of community policing. AQCA is located in Sector E, in the Central Division. Sector E Beat Management Team meetings are held the first Wednesday of each month, and are open to the public. For more information about these meetings, contact Kathleen Brown at 787-6359 or kbrown@springfieldpolice.net.
Ongoing neighborhood safety concerns (chronic drug dealing, loitering, prostitution) can be reported to any of the AQCA Officers, or to to Deputy William Cochrane, who is assigned to oversee police operations of the Central Division. 787-6340 / wcochrane@springfieldpolice.net
If you have a specific crime to report, there is a downloadable Incident and Crime Report form on the Police Department website, to help you prepare your report.
Remember: it's not enough to complain, you need to report it!
There is as separate form which can be printed and filled out with any complaints or compliments about any Springfield Police Department employee.
AQCA encourage area residents to participated in the Citizen Police Academy, a free 10-week course offered by the Springfield Policy Department.
Springfield Downtown / BID / Guides
The Springfield Business Improvement District works to keep downtown Springfield a safe and friendly place to live, work, and play. Visit their website to learn about the many exciting programs the BID sponsors, including regular concert series, a summer farmer's market, etc. The Springfield Guides are stationed throughout downtown, giving directions, escorting visitors, checking in on businesses, helping with car trouble, providing homeless outreach, deterring panhandling and assisting the police. In addition, the Springfield Guides monitor public safety cameras 7 nights a week and have a cell phone that you can call 24 hours a day for assistance.
